This might be your first Rock am Ring festival or your 10th, whatever it is we have put together a list of the most common rock am ring questions we get. If we have not answered everything you want to know, add a question below and hopefully someone will be able to answer your question.

First Aid

The German Red Cross have service points around the festival site.


It is absolutely forbidden to start fires
The security forces on the campsites should be informed immediately if a fire breaks out somewhere, even if it appears to be under control.

Radio Festival

SWR3 will provide visitors with traffic news on FM 87.7 SW£ Rock am Ring Radio. The Rock am Ring Radio Stations starts from Thursday, 05.06.2008, 14:00 clock open Monday, 09.06.2008, 15:00 clock.


Cash Machines can be found on the federal hightway 258th. There is a cash machine on site at “Box 30” it is sign posted.

To Camp together – Arrive Together.

To be able to park your cars and camp with members of the same group you will need to arrive at the same time.

Drink on Festival Site.

You are allowed up to 1 litre of drink into the festival site contained in a Tetra Pack. Glass and Cans are not allowed into the arena. There is free drinking water points around the festival arena site.

Information Points

There are many information points around the festival site to provide information to both german and foreign visitors.


Children under 8 are not allowed to the festival, children between 8 –16 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Cooking on the campsites

Gas cookers are allowed on the camp site but extreme caution must be taken.

Car Sharing.

It is recommended to share cars to reduce traffic to the festival.

An open-air festival is a noisy event. To protect against too much volume are earplugs at each merchandising stand in the interior area and the ancillary services.

Public transport

There are bus services running from Koblenz station to the Nurburgring festival site.

Sanitary stations
On the following sites there are stations with wassergespülten sanitary toilets and showers: A2/A5, A7, B2a, B5, B9, C2/C3, D5, D6 and D9 and D10 on the plot (handicap equipment). In addition, the users at all land mobile toilets and drinking water are available.


The parking lots are around the clock by the police service care. To ensure the security of the campsites will take care of its own police service, in conjunction with the police. In case of problems, the security forces immediately be addressed.

Sound and video recordings on the festival grounds are prohibited.

Get there by Train

Get to Rock am Ring By Train

Rock am Ring takes place at the Nürburgring racetrack in Germany on Friday 2 June 2017 – Sunday 4 June 2017.   We want to show you that it is quite easy to get a train to rock am ring festival 2017.

So how do you get to Rock am Ring by Train?

You can either get the Eurostar to Brussels  then train to Koblenz or get a ferry to calais then a train to Koblenz. Once in Koblenz you pick up  the Official Shuttle Buses to Rock am Ring it really is that easy.

Eurostar to Rock am Ring

First get Eurostar to Brussels

Get the Eurostar from London St Pancras to Bruxelles Midi  ( Brussels) which takes only 2hr  I just checked the prices for travelling out wednesday 31 May 2017 and returning 5 June 2017,  


Or Get Eurostar to Lille

You can get a similar deal to the Brussels deal for trips from London St Pancras to Lille

 Second get train to Koblenz

Get a train from (Brussels ( midi) / Lille) to Koblenz.   You can get details of trains on the excellent German rail website

Final Leg to Rock am Ring Woop Woop ! !

The Rock am Ring Organisers put on shuttle buses from Thursday 2nd June 2011 to the Rock am Ring Site from Koblenz bus station.   We suggest you pick up your food and booze here too, lots of cheap supermarkets and offies.

Ferry to Rock am Ring

First get Ferry to Calais

You can get the Eurostar to Calais check out their website .  However why not get a boat.   We always use Ferry Cheap to ensure we get the cheapest dover to calais prices

Second get Train to Koblenz

You can get a train from Calais-Frethun to Koblenz in under 5 hours.

Third Leg to Rock am Ring woo hoo

 As mentioned above you can pick up shuttle buses from Koblenz to the festival site.

Rock am Ring is Germany’s Number One Music Festival and attracting the worlds top Rock and Roll bands to play on the grounds of the Nurburgring racetrack in Nurburg, Germany on the weekend of Friday 3rd June 2011 to Sunday 5th June 2011. Rock am Ring Line Up

We love Rock am Ring, and find below details of last years festival. The Rock am Ring Festival is one of Europe’s Largest Music Festivals, it is up there with Glastonbury, V Festival, Roskilde and Reading Festvial. Rock am Ring and its sister event Rock m Park took place over the same weekend in Germany.
Rock am Ring is hosted at the Nürburgring motor racing track in the west of Germany. The Rock im Park event takes place near the Frankenstadion in Nürnberg which is in the South East of Germany.
Rock am Ring took place on the weekend of 4th – 6th June 2010. Bands which play on one day Rock am Ring will play the Rock im Park on the next day.
The festival is the largest in Germany with over 150,000 attending across the two events. In 2007 both events sold out in advance for the first time in their history.
