Germany’s top Music Festival have confirmed the first batch of bands to play in 2009. Rock am Ring and Rock im Park takes place between 5th to 7th June 2009.
Rock am Ring organiser have advised that 20,000 tickets have already being sold before they have even announced any of the line up. The 25 year old festival goes from strength to strength.
There will again be 3 stages at 2009 Rock am ring festival, the first headliners confirmed are Las Vegas rockers The Killers who are at the top of their game at the moment their latest Day & Age has topped the charts around the world. Other headliners include Placebo and Slipknot.
Other bands confirmed in the first batch include Canadian punk rocker Billy Talent. The Rock am Ring Festival maintains its truely global reach with top swedish indie acts including Mando Diao and the loveable and hugely popular The Subways.
Also playing are Volbeat and an exclusive appearance by Killswitch Engage.
As well as the huge global acts, top German Acts are of course also well represented including
Peter Fox, the front man of Seeed, the radio superstar Jan Delay & Disko No.1 and Kettcar Arctic Circle 18, and Tomte Kilians Park Square, who will all showcase the great stuff coming from the german rock music scene.
In total over 80 bands will play the festival so watch out for more acts to be confirmed during the year.
Last year Rock am Ring sold out in advance with a record 150,000 attending rock am ring and rock im park. We therefore recommend you get your tickets early.

It seemed like James was back in his original metallica fashion at the 2008 Rock Am Ring and with the release of their new album the possiblities are high.
